Paul gains cast
The cast of Paul is really taking shape as Paul himself finally gets a voice, and it's Seth Rogen.
Paul is the next film starring Simon Pegg and Nick Frost which will see them play two science-fiction fans in a road trip to a convention who take a trek to Area 51 and discover an escaped alien.
Simon Pegg and Nick Frost wrote the script and Greg Mottola is set to direct. Now we're hearing of more cast joining the fray with Seth Rogen becoming the voice of the alien, and Jason Bateman, Kristen Wiig, Bill Hader and Jane Lynch all adding their names to the cast.
The news comes from Variety and the addition of the American talents does suggest this is going to be something quite a bit removed from the previous two films we've seen from the Pegg-Frost team up.
Is this going to work as well as Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz (Filmstalker review)? Is the fact that it's going to be in American with mainly American talent have any affect on the quality and comedy of the film?
I do suspect that the fact that the script is still from Pegg and Frost will hold a huge amount of sway over the film, but there's no denying that this already has a different feel to the film even in these early casting stages.
