Josh Brolin producing and starring in John Brown biographical film, the American abolitionist who was so fanatically against the slave trade that he killed five southern slave owners before the start of the Civil War. According to Coming Soon he's set to produce and hopefully star in the film about the man's life which is written by Mark Gordon.
“The script was already out there; I read the script, I loved it. It would be a very tough character for me to play. We're going to do some tests once I'm done with this...People have been wanting to do it forever and there's a lot of directors who'd love to be involved, so I think now's the time.”
Sounds an interesting project, but why is the time right?
Mel Gibson is back on the long awaited project about the ATF infiltrating the Mongols biker gang according to the very same story from above. Apparently Josh Brolin is talking to him about the project in some way. The film, Under and Alone, tells the story of William Queen, an ATF agent who infiltrates the bike gang and is adapted from his novel (Amazon.co.uk / Amazon.com) telling of his experience. Word was that Gibson was off the project at the time of Apocalypto, but it appears he's back on.
There's going to be a Blue Man Group film according to Variety who have the story that David Russo is set to direct a 3D film about them which will also feature their score. Russo has been speaking about the film and while it will probably be a performance film taking full advantage of 3D, the idea sounds high concept.
“...the Blue Men entering the brain of a socially and creatively congested person and observing his neural patterns and his habitual brain functions and memory and altering it in a way that helps him bring his inside life outside.”
Wow. Got me there.
