The trailer for The Road has premiered online and is available in high definition and it's looking pretty intense, although it doesn't give that much away about the film, something I like.

It stars Viggo Mortensen as a man who has to travel with his son to the safety of the coast in a post apocalyptic world, and all the while protect them both from the dangers that lie between them and safety. Charlize Theron, Guy Pearce and Robert Duvall also star.

The Road is the adaptation of Cormac McCarthy's novel (Amazon.co.uk / Amazon.com) by the writer Joe Penhall and directed by John Hillcoat.

With that list you have to believe that the film is going to be something special, in fact the appearance of Viggo Mortensen and Guy Pearce on that cast list is enough isn't it? Then there's also the director who gave us the excellent The Proposition.
