Farrah Fawcett has passed away at the age of 62. Most famous for her role in the TV series Charlie's Angels, she also starred in numerous films and TV shows.
Fawcett was originally diagnosed with cancer in 2006, which went into remission. But the illness returned a few months later.
Farrah Fawcett was born in Corpus Christi, Texas. She started her career as a model and actress, and had guest roles in shows such as I Dream of Jeannie, The Flying Nun and The Partridge Family. She soon got a role on Charlie's Angels, the popular TV show about female private detectives. Despite lasting only one full year, she became somewhat of a fashion icon, thanks to her infamous hairstyle. She ended up returning for guest spots on Charlie's Angels, after a legal dispute over her contract.
She then starred in films such as The Cannonball Run, The Burning Bed and Extremities. She had previously played the same role in Extremities, in the theatre production. She also made guest appearances in Ally McBeal, Spin City and The Guardian.
Her off screen life also made headlines. She posed for Playboy, was married to Lee Majors for six years and also had a son with Ryan O'Neal. She was first diagnosed with cancer in October 2006, and after treatment it went into remission. It returned only months later though. Her condition had been worsening of late, and she had planned to marry her long term partner Ryan O'Neal.
