Don't be Afraid of the Dark details and cast
Guillermo del Toro does have his hands full of late, and he's about to produce one of his protégés direct a script he co-wrote with Matthew Robbins, a script that is also close to gaining a pretty interesting cast with a strong actors about to join, and if they do it'll make for a really interesting pairing for the film.
Don't be Afraid of the Dark is a remake of a film made for television back in 1973 about a young girl who moves in with her father and girlfriend only to discover that they are sharing the house with monsters. Sounds very del Toro doesn't it?
The story sees the monsters originally appear friendly, and the daughter is fascinated by them, until they begin to show that they are far more dangerous than she first thought.
I think he's a superb actor and I think he's great in everything he's doing, but the interesting part would be who he's pairing up with should he take the role. His on screen girlfriend would be played by Katie Holmes.
Holmes hasn't really set the world alight with her acting, but this could be a film that could provide her with a little more credibility, particularly if she does end up next to Pearce. It's a strange pairing, but an interesting one.
According to the story for Don't be Afraid of the Dark Bailee Madison is set to play the daughter who sees the monsters, she is fast becoming a well respected young actress in Hollywood with some major roles under her belt about to come out.
Troy Nixey is directing the Guillermo del Toro written and produced script, and it's telling that Pearce is even interested in the role considering the kind of roles he goes for, he's an actor that really is all about the script.
