Producer extraordinaire Frank Marshall has been talking about his upcoming projects. And that means news on Jurassic Park 4, Jason Bourne 4 and The NeverEnding Story 4. Actually that last one is just a remake.

One of them is already happening, the other two are a while away. Some would say thankfully.

Jurassic Park 4 has been kicking around and going nowhere for a while. At the end of last year it looked to be dead, but then a couple of days later no one was sure. Frank Marshall talked to Sci-Fi Wire, and seems like they still can't come up with a decent story.

We'll have to see if they can come up with a story. We don't have a story yet.

Not a surprise really, we've already done the hidden island thing. What could be next? An early screenplay had dinosaurs loose in a city. Other than that what else it there?

One sequel which we know is happening is another Jason Bourne film, and Marshall says they are just waiting on a finished script, and some synched calendars.

I am moving it forward. We'd like to shoot next year, but it's trying to get everyone's schedules in the right place and getting the script right. We have done pretty well with these scripts that are loosely put together, but I would like the script to be really solid this time before we go forward, so we are spending a lot of time on story.

The story is also probably taking longer, as they are working on an original idea. Let's hope it meets expectations. Lastly he talked about The NeverEnding Story remake. A book and film I confess to having never read or seen. They are making slow progress with the remake though.

We love the book. We've always thought there was an opportunity there to tell a lot of elements that were in the book that weren't in the [original] movie. It's another one where we are still working on the rights. Once we get that, we'll bring on a writer. But it's off in the distance, but it's a great story.

So Jurassic Park 4 is a maybe, Jason Bourne 4 is on track and The NeverEnding Story needs some film rights and a story. I have to say, out of all of them I'm mostly interested in Jason Bourne IV. Neither of the other two interest me much.
