Snyder talks 300 sequel
Zack Snyder has been talking about the possible sequel or prequel to 300 (Filmstalker review), and revealed where Frank Miller is with the story, and what some of the plans might be for the film.
Reading his comments I'd say he's more than interested in going for the sequel, or prequel, and there's nothing here to suggest that the project isn't moving forward.
Of course that doesn't mean that something might happen in the future, we could see the story come out and no one want to make it, or the pre-production might falter, or...all manner of things might happen down the road, but right now the film seems to be on the cards for Zack Snyder.
Here's what he said to say about the possible 300 sequel/prequel through Superhero Hype:
"I know for a fact that Frank [Miller] is writing right now...[He's] drawing away and seems to be knee-deep in it. I think he's going to head back to Greece again and do another reconnaissance...
...Just from what [Miller] told me, it would be bigger as far as landscape and terrain. We're going to see Athens and the Aegean and other places. There would be an opportunity for bigger visions, though I'd hope for the same aesthetic."
He goes on to talk about how he would hope to use the same technology, technology that he says isn't that impressive really and is used by television weather computer modelling. However he's happy using that technology and going for the same look, and thankfully there's no mention of leaping on the 3D bandwagon and proclaiming that all cinema and home cinema has changed forever, oh and by the way you need to buy all new kit.
He does say that it's going to be crazier though, and that's a good sign.
