Closed: Win Ghostbusters on Blu-ray!

GhostbustersBluray.jpgI'm hugely excited to have been given four copies of Ghostbusters on Blu-ray to give away to UK Filmstalker readers for free, and all you have to do is answer a very easy question.

Ghostbusters is released on Blu-ray on the 15th of June to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the film itself, and the Blu-ray package comes with a ton of extras as well as digitally remastered audio and video coming in with a 1080p picture and Dolby TrueHD 5.1 audio. Superb.

Ghostbusters was a superb film when it was released back in 1984, and it's one of those films that has continued to impress and entertain no matter how many times you watch it, I know I've seen it quite a few times and it still works even today. Now that it's in Blu-ray it's an even more exciting prospect.

For those of you who don't remember, here's the a higher quality trailer, obviously not Blu-ray, for you to have a quick peek: Quicktime, Windows Media Player, Real Media.

As another reminder, here's the plot for Ghostbusters as well as the cast breakdown:

"University parapsychologists Dr. Peter Venkman (Murray), Dr. Raymond Stanz (Aykroyd) and Dr. Egon Spengler (Ramis) lose a research grant when their experiment methodology is proven to be bogus. The team decides to go into business for themselves and open ‘Ghostbusters,’ a ghost removal service. After struggling to get on their feet, they are summoned to investigate the strange happenings in Dana Barrett’s (Weaver) Central Park West apartment. What they discover is that all Manhattan is being besieged by ghosts and other worldly demons through a portal in her building.

Directed and produced by Ivan Reitman (Meatballs, Stripes), with the screenplay written by Dan Aykroyd (My Girl, The Great Outdoors) and Harold Ramis (Knocked Up), Ghostbusters stars Bill Murray (Meatballs, Stripes), Dan Aykroyd (My Girl, The Great Outdoors), Sigourney Weaver (Aliens, Copycat), Harold Ramis (Knocked Up), Annie Potts (TV’s “Designing Women”), and Rick Moranis (Honey I Shrunk the Kids, Spaceballs)."

Now, I'm sure you really do remember the film, and you're probably thinking how good the Blu-ray offering is. Well I have a copy to review and I'll be getting that live as soon as I've worked through all the features, but to get you excited, here's the full list of what's included in the Blu-ray offering that you could win.

Now that's quite an offering on the Ghostbusters Blu-ray, and I can see it selling like mad as soon as it's released on the 15th of June. Some reviews I've already looked at for the film say that the Blu-ray offering is very strong too, definitely worth winning.

So if you fancy winning a copy of Ghostbusters on Blu-ray, first make sure you have a UK postal address at which to receive the prize, secondly follow these simple instructions before the closing date of the 2nd of July.

  • Select the email link below which should open a new email (see below if it doesn't)
  • Leave all the pre-populated details in the subject
  • Add in the answer to the following question
  • Add in your UK postal address
  • Send the email!

Here's the question:

Who sang the theme song for Ghostbusters?

Competition Closed

Now, if an email doesn't appear when you select the link, here's what to do:

  • Right click the email link and copy the link address
  • Paste the copied address into a text editor or something similar
  • The email address to send the email to is between the "mailto:" and "?subject"
  • The subject of the email is the rest of the line after "?subject="
  • Now open a new email in whatever way you like and paste in the address and subject, then follow the rest of the instructions above

Remember it's UK postal addresses only and the competition closes on the 2nd of July. It's that simple.

Good luck, and do enter, the more people who do the more competitions I get to run, and the more prizes I get to give away, and if you don't enter you'll never win.
