You Are a Miserable Excuse for a Hero is being adapted by the man who wrote Grosse Point Blank and High Fidelity…

Randall Wallace, the man who wrote Braveheart and We Were Soldiers, is set to rewrite Captain Nemo: 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea for McG and Disney. The Hollywood Reporter reminds us that the story will tell the origin story of Nemo, a mysterious nobleman who is a scientific genius who is always seeking knowledge and revenge against imperialism. That revenge comes from the fact that Jules Verne's second book reveals the man as Indian Prince Dakkar who saw his family killed in a failed rebellion that he took part in. However there's no real knowledge of what the Disney film will portray.

During a press event for Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, it was confirmed to Omlete through Collider by the director David Yates that Bill Nighy would definitely be playing Rufus Scrimgeour, the Minister of Magic in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.

D.V. DeVincentis is set to write a film based on Bob Powers' book You Are a Miserable Excuse for a Hero ( / ) according to Variety. It follows a nice guy who is thrown into a set of increasingly unusual circumstances as his blind date goes terribly wrong. DeVincentis also wrote Grosse Pointe Blank and High Fidelity. Is John Cusack going to star then?

Peter Krause, Mary-Kate Olsen, Alex Pettyfer and Vanessa Hudgens are all set to star in Beastly ( / ), an adaptation of the Alex Flinn novel which is based on the Beauty and the Beast story. The story comes from Variety.

Virginia Madsen is joining Kevin Spacey in the film Father of Invention which follows an egomaniacal inventor who becomes a billionaire through his inventions. However one goes terribly wrong and costs him everything, including eight years in prison, and when he comes out he finds his ex-wife has spent it all and remarried, so he vows to win it all back. Camilla Belle, Heather Graham and Craig Robinson also star according to Variety.

Captain Nemo is one of, if not my favorite literary characters! The news that they're dusting him off for a new go at those imperial arses is music to my ears.

Disney handling him worked out pretty well before. Sure they candied him down a bit, but the mystery was definitely there.

oh and thanks for letting me tell the wifey about some news about harry potter that she HASNT already beat me to :)

Ha! No problem, same here. I'm usually telling her about news and she goes "oh yeah, I knew", and she's not interested in film!!

I mean my wife of course, not yours!

Harry Potter and the deathly Hallows.
See how get the Movie filming.
Without censoring and installation-working moments of film.
