Stalked: Casting for Losers, Dr. Death, Let the Right One In and Banking on Mr. Toad

The Losers has added Holt McCallany to the cast...

The Dr. Death biographical film with Al Pacino in the lead has gained two big cast members...

Let the Right One In may have found its male lead...

Ioan Gruffudd is to play Kenneth Grahame, the creator of Wind in the Willows...

The Losers has added Holt McCallany to the Sylvain White directed disaster (probably) of the comic book adaptation.

The story is the modern A-Team essentially. A black ops group who are contracted by the CIA for top secret foreign missions are set-up one day by the very agency who hired them. Escaping a destroyed helicopter and taken for dead, they turn the tables on the people who put the contract on them and wage a war against their previous bosses.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, McCallany is set to play Wade, a special forces officer who left the group. Zoe Saldana and Jason Patric have already been cast, so at least that's looking positive.

In news that I wrote about back in May, Al Pacino is set to play Dr. Jack Kevorkian, the doctor who assisted in around a hundred suicides of terminally ill patients. The film is to be based on the book Between the Dying and the Dead: Dr. Jack Kevorkian's Life and the Battle to Legalize Euthanasia (Amazon.co.uk / Amazon.com) and will follow the story of the man as he helped terminally ill patients die of their own choice while fighting for their right to die in the courts.

Now we hear through The Hollywood Reporter that both Susan Sarandon and John Goodman are set to join the film. Goodman will play his friend, supporter and co-worker while Sarandon will play Janet Good an activist with the Hemlock Society that becomes one of his supporters and when diagnosed with terminal cancer chooses her own right to die with the help of the doctor. It sounds more and more like a superbly provocative and emotive film.

Kodi Smit-McPhee may be taking the lead of Let The Right One In (Filmstalker review), In for the American remake if everything goes well in the negotiation stages. Well to be honest if everything goes right before then too as Smit-McPhee is doing the old actor pimping for a job routine. According to the very actor through The Herald-Sun and ShockTillYouDrop (without giving a source link) his starring in the film is looking good. Frankly the remake doesn't need to happen, but if it does is he a good choice?

Ioan Gruffudd has just joined the biographical film of Kenneth Grahame, the man who wrote Wind in the Willows after being the secretary of the Bank of England. Samantha Morton is in discussions to play his wife according to Variety. Expect something along the lines of Finding Neverland as the film will tell the story of Grahame's relationship with his autistic son.
