Stalked: Freeman and Willis, Bean leads fantasy epic, Viola with Roberts, Ahlgren's Discipline adapated

Morgan Freeman to join Bruce Willis in Red…

Sean Bean is to play a good guy in a new fantasy series…

Viola Davis is in talks for Eat, Pray, Love…

Paco Ahlgren's science fiction novel Discipline is being adapted…

Morgan Freeman is in talks to join Red alongside Bruce Willis. The film is an espionage thriller adapted from the trilogy of graphic novels from Warren Ellis (Amazon.co.uk / Amazon.com) about a retired Black-Ops CIA agent living a quiet, normal life, who is suddenly pulled back into the thick of things when an assassin sets out to kill him. It pitches the old school agent against a new agent using all the latest technology the spy world has to offer. It already sounds like a good script, but pit Willis against Morgan and I think we'd be flying. The news comes from Variety.

Sean Bean is set to play a good guy, something that doesn't always happen, in a new fantasy series adapted from the George R. R. Martin books. The first film is Game of Thrones and will see Bean take the lead, another thing we don't see enough of, with Thomas McCarthy directing. He previously directed the excellent The Visitor (Filmstalker review).

The series tells the story of a world where seven kingdoms and two ruling families battle for control of the Iron Throne which will ensure their survival through a coming forty year winter. The news comes from Yahoo News.

This is another fantasy series for Bean who was in Lord of the Rings and has just been performing in Percy Jackson & the Olympians. He does get about.

Viola Davis is in talks for Eat, Pray, Love alongside Julia Roberts and Richard Jenkins. Ryan Murphy adapted the novel (Amazon.co.uk / Amazon.com) and is directing the screenplay. The film, according to The Hollywood Reporter, will see Roberts play a woman who goes on a journey of self-discovery after going through a terrible divorce. Sounds a little like the excellent The Private Lives of Pippa Lee (Filmstalker review).

Variety has the news that David Permut and Steve Lee Jones are adapting Paco Ahlgren's science fiction novel Discipline (Amazon.co.uk / Amazon.com) which tells the story of a man involved in a psychological battle with an unseen enemy, the outcome of which will secure the past, present and future of human existence. Now that sounds intriguing to say the least.

Permut and Jones are also working on the film about John DeLorean, DeLorean, and a documentary, Kevorkian, and feature, You Don't Know Jack, about Dr. Jack Kevorkian, the doctor famous for assisted suicides in America.
