The Collector red band trailer online

TheCollector.jpgMarcus Dunstan co-wrote a Saw trilogy from the fourth film onwards, the Feast trilogy, and now has co-written and directed The Collector. His co-writer is Patrick Melton, and together they are bringing us the story of a man caught within a series of fiendish traps, sound familiar?

Read on though, for the man is an ex-criminal who is trying to repay a debt to his ex-wife by performing a last job at his employers home. However as he opens the safe he realises he's not the only criminal there and the house is rigged with a series of deadly traps.

Yeah, okay, it doesn't sound that far from Saw really but there looks to be a lot more to it than just the wearing thin plot lines of Saw, and the trailer looks pretty good.

Here's a bigger blurb for The Collector:

THE COLLECTOR follows the story of handyman and ex-con Arkin, who aims to repay a debt to his ex-wife by robbing his new employer’s country home. Unfortunately for Arkin, a far worse enemy has already laid claim to the property – and the family. As the seconds tick down to midnight, Arkin becomes a reluctant hero trapped by a masked “Collector” in a maze of lethal invention – the Spanish Inquisition as imagined by Rube Goldberg – while trying to rescue the very family he came to rob.

The trailer comes through Latino Review and you can see it right here, see what you think and if it catches your eye or if it just seems to reek of more Saw.
