Ah the joys of internet rumours, they forget some basic rules, for the most part roles are not cast without a script or director, and if a film doesn't have any of those, or a production that's even started, then chances are they haven't cast anyone.

So it's been strange to hear the rumours on and off of various stars for the next Underworld film, including Kate Beckinsale who has been talking about the film.

She says that she hasn't heard anything about it, but does say if the script is amazing then she might do it. That's your lot.

Speaking through Collider and JoBlo Kate Beckinsale says, probably very sexily too:

”I don’t know anything about a 4th Underworld. I don’t know anything about that at this point...

...it was always conceived as a trilogy, which I was never going to be in the third one. I think if they came up with an amazing script I wouldn’t be adverse to it. But it’s not planned or anything.”

She's pressed on the subject of the fourth film, or even more, and of the rumours of her playing the character again, and she's pretty clear.

”I’ve heard they’re talking about a 4th one, but I don’t know if that’s officially happening or it’s that a rumor. As far as I’m concerned it’s just a rumor.”

Well there you go, does that mean that the rumours can stop now until at least we hear of a writer and director? No, don't be daft, they'll be on again on Monday.
