It's Complicated trailer online
The trailer for It's Complicated has arrived online, why is it so special? Well it's absolutely superb, it's the comedy I like, real life comedy, a little more intelligent than bodily function humour, and it features superb comic timing from two charismatic fuelled actors.
The leads are Alec Baldwin and Meryl Streep with a bit of Steve Martin thrown in, and I heartily recommend that you watch it.
The film comes from the writer and director Nancy Meyers, think Private Benjamin, Jumpin' Jack Flash, Baby Boom, Father of the Bride films, Something's Gotta Give, The Holiday, you get the idea. Except here the trailer looks much stronger, and I wonder if a lot of it is in the choice of the leads.
The story is about a divorced couple, the woman is on her own and the man has remarried a much younger lady. Except life doesn't seem that great now he's there, and by the chance of a drink fuelled fire the two reconnect. Could there be something more in store for them? It seems that they both want to get back together, but at the same time there's another man on the scene, an the ex-wife's architect.
Complicated? Not really, but it does look full of life's humour and pathos, and both Meryl Streep and Alec Baldwin look perfect together.
