The Lovely Bones trailer online

TheLovelyBones.jpgI've never read The Lovely Bones novel, but on the strength of this trailer for Peter Jackson's film I think I might. For a while I thought the blurb seemed interesting but was going to be really light and wouldn't have much dramatic weight, and the opening of the trailer does suggest that.

However the second half of the trailer just gets better and better and by the end of it your hooked. This is an example of a really strong trailer that just might see a performance from Mark Wahlberg to forgive the one he gave in The Happening (Filmstalker review).

The film from Peter Jackson is the adaptation of the novel (Amazon.co.uk / Amazon.com) and stars Saoirse Ronan in the lead and Rachel Weisz, Mark Wahlberg, Susan Sarandon and Stanley Tucci, whom you get to see in the latter half of the trailer.

I love Tucci as an actor, and he looks like he's getting his teeth into another strong role, also great to see Michael Imperioli in something new. As well as that the film looks like it's filmed wonderfully and the in-between world sequences look fantastic, I just hope we don't concentrate on them too much.

The trailer for The Lovely Bones is right here to see, or in high definition over at Apple Trailers [P:SM:L:480p:720p:1080p] and looks fantastic.

It tells the story of a young girl who is murdered and who helps her family and friends from beyond the grave to unveil who the murderer is.
