Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides confirmed
Not only has Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides now got a title, as you can see, but Disney announced, in a rather spectacular style, that another Pirates of the Caribbean film is on with Johnny Depp returning as Captain Jack Sparrow.
However no one else has been announced, and nothing has been announced for the story, which you have to assume is already agreed considering the fact it has a title.
During a Disney presentation of upcoming projects the big announcement was Johnny Depp appearing on stage atop a pirate ship and dressed as Captain Jack Sparrow. According to Variety he then took to the stage and performed a few moments as his character.
I think it's pretty fair to say that this next film is really going to be a Sparrow vehicle, and Johnny Depp is going to revel in the fact and the role. However will it still be a Pirates of the Caribbean film with most of the original cast missing from it?
I'm not so sure. I'm not saying that it'll be a bad thing, just a very different thing. The question will be can the franchise really continue, and might this be the very last outing if things don't go so well?
