Zwick's Love And Other Drugs gains cast

EdwardZwick.jpgEdward Zwick is more known for thrillers and dramas than anything else, so it's a surprise to hear that he's tackling a romantic comedy based on the non-fiction novel from Charles Reidy entitled Hard Sell: The Evolution of a Viagra Salesman (Amazon.co.uk / Amazon.com).

It does seem quite a departure for the director, but since he's proven solid with his previous films all sitting in a similar genre then perhaps he'll float effortlessly into this one. The cast he's picked up for the film certainly backs that up.

Edward Zwick has lined up Gabriel Macht, Hank Azaria, Oliver Platt, Anne Hathaway, Jake Gyllenhaal and Judy Greer for the attractive cast, and I don't just mean in terms of looks.

The story will see Hathaway play a woman with Parksinson's disease who is splitting up with her existing boyfriend, played by Macht, and starting a relationship with Gyllenhaal's character who is a Viagra salesman, a job that definitely keeps him up at nights.

through Empire tells us that Azaria is playing a doctor client of Gyllenhaal's salesman, and Platt will play the salesman's boss.

Sounds an interesting story, and with that cast and director I'm sure we're in for an equally interesting film.
