Shake Hands With the Devil trailer
I know this isn't a new release, but Shake Hands With the Devil is a story that really affected me when I read the book by Roméo Dallaire Amazon.co.uk / Amazon.com
), and when a book, a film, or anything really touches you like that you want to tell other people about it, especially when it has such a strong message to deliver, and that's what I'm doing with Shake Hands With the Devil.
The story is told by the UN Commander of forces in Rwanda and his attempts to tell the world about the genocide in Rwanda, before and as it happened. It also tells the story of how all the countries failed to help and stop the genocide, including America and Britain who were perhaps two of the most complicit countries in letting it continue, America in particular.
It's a powerful book, a harrowing and humbling story, and very emotional, and I've yet to see the film by Roger Spotiswoode, but I will, particularly after seeing the trailer.
Shake Hands with the Devil stars Roy Dupuis as General Dallaire and co-stars Deborah Kara Unger, and from the Yahoo Trailers high definition trailer you can see it could be a tough watch already, even with the out of place voice over.
You can see the trailer right here as well.
