Stalked: Transformers 3 and Kill Bill 3

KillBill.jpgThe two directors of each of these films have announced that they are making a third of each of their franchises. Neither is a surprise, and one I seriously wonder if we will see.

Quentin Tarantino announced he's going to work on another film (remember he does that a lot with films we never see) Kill Bill 3, and Michael Bay has announced that he's started working on Transformers 3 doing the most important part, deciding on new characters with Hasbro.

Quentin Tarantino is well known for announcing new films and then letting them slide into history, think about the Vega Brothers, the sequel to Pulp Fiction, and we've heard him talking about Kill Bill sequels before. Still, he seems rather definite.

When interviewed for Italian television he said:

"Yes...The Bride will fight again!"

Of course he said no to some other sequels that were mentioned, but that doesn't mean anything. There's some flimsy discussion about waiting ten years for the character in the story and because the film was hard to shoot, and that would mean 2014 for the film, but let's face it, he talks a lot about his films and delivers slowly and not that often.

I'll put the video at the end of the post for you to race to around 5:45 and catch the short Kill Bill 3 moment, thanks to The Playlist for the find.

Before we get to that, let's look at the story from Total Film quoting Michael Bay's own site for the start of Transformers 3.

"Well its official: We have a great Transformers 3 story. The release date is now July 1st 2011. Not 2012...

...Today is Day One. This morning started with an ILM meeting for five hours in San Francisco. Currently I'm flying with writer Ehren Kruger to Rhode Island to talk to Hasbro about new characters."

He then goes on to joke/poke fun at/build up the publicity machine about the Megan Fox situation which I could care less about. Not care less about Megan Fox, but about what's going on between them, if indeed there is anything and it's more than just publicity talk.

So the third one is on, and that means his smaller film Pain and Gain waits till after the third Transformers. It's all about the money.

Here's that Tarantino interview.
