I have to admit to being a little sceptical about this story, after all the final Rocky was written just that way, to be the final fight, to be a one time comeback fight, and it confuses me as to how Sylvester Stallone could be considering another comeback film, but I'll get to that in a moment.

The news is that, according to selected comments, Stallone is wanting to bring Rocky Balboa back for another battle, another fight.

I say they are selected comments because they could be taken another way on their own. Let's have a look at the comments that are circulating from Sylvester Stallone:

”I know I'll probably make a fool of myself if I make another 'Rocky' film after turning 60...

...I also know there's gonna be a lot of criticism. Even my wife says, 'Don't do it. You're embarrassing the kids'. But I told her, 'If I don't try I'll be a really unhappy man.'...

...You have to do it. Artists like me have to go through the dark over and over again.”

They come from an interview that he did for Teensay.com through Latino Review, where they say:

The 63-year-old 'Rambo' actor - who has recently revealed his hopes to direct a seventh 'Rocky' boxing movie - is preparing to be criticised by movie experts and loved ones when he works on his next blockbuster.

Considering Rocky Balboa (Filmstalker review) was released in 2006, he would have just turned sixty around that time, and I'm wondering if that comment returns back to when he was doing the previous Rocky film.

I don't recall reading the fact that Stallone wanted to make another Rocky film, although I have an article from back in January of 2008 where he says that both Rocky and Rambo are dead. Here's exactly what he said:

"This is the last Rambo just as Rocky Balboa is the last Rocky...I can't go any further. It was a miracle that it even got done."

That seems pretty final doesn't it? Well even then Harvey Weinstein was talking about an idea they had to bring Rambo back the U.S., and viola, here we are looking at Rambo V: The Savage Hunt right round the corner, so maybe we really are going to be seeing a new Rocky Balboa film?

So how could it really play out? Well he could follow real life and see an older boxer return to try and challenge for the title, invigorated by what he achieved in his exhibition fight, and that's happened before. Or we could see him return as a trainer and give a totally different feel to the Rocky films, and yet we'd have to see him return to the ring, wouldn't we?

If it his comments really are there to reveal the return of Rocky, should we be excited about it? Do we really want it?

Part of me would rather that he turned his attention to Poe, Death Wish, or perhaps some better deserving sequels to his existing films, and what would they be?
