Cassell, Ryder and Hershey join Black Swan
There's been a big casting rumour on the Internet for Darren Aronofsky's Black Swan, and if it's true it would be superb news for the production, and might get people off of the fixation of an acted sex scene between Natalie Portman and Mila Kunis.
Black Swan is the story of a ballerina who is in an intense competitive rivalry with a fellow dancer, and the film builds their rivalry as they near a huge performance. Now the lead dancer is obviously concerned because she can't be sure if the character is real or not, and may actually be in her own head.
Sounds an interesting project, and it's one that has been fascinating people on the Internet for ages, not just because of the fact that Darren Aronofsky is directing the film, but because the word is that Natalie Portman and Mila Kunis, who play the dancers, will have a sex scene. Not just any sex scene, but an angry, aggressive sex scene. Well that grabbed the attention and early headlines.
Now though there could be something else to get fixated on, and it's something much better, the supporting cast.
Apparently Ryder will be playing Beth, a friend of Nina who is played by Natalie Portman. She's nearing the end of her career and is set to let go of her reign as the leading dancer, something that Nina, and the mysterious may or may not be real dancer, are fighting to gain for themselves.
Hershey is set to play the mother of Nina, and Cassel will be the director of the stage production of Swan Lake who is looking to replace his lead of Odette.
Sounds a great cast to back up the leads, when they aren't having angry, aggressive sex of course, and the story sounds good too. Perhaps we can concentrate on the story, cast and all those important parts now?
