Kick-Ass teaser online
Well I wouldn't use the word disappointed to describe the footage for the Kick-Ass teaser, but considering what we've already seen in the leaked footage, this is extremely short, very tame, very short and to the point.
Okay the original leaked trailer has disappeared, but the clips taken from Comic-Con are still there, and they are undoubtedly far superior, even if they are very short. Still, that opening scene is superb.
I'm trying to imagine what impact the Kick-Ass trailer would have if I hadn't seen the previous clips, so that's where you come in. Have a look at it and tell me how you feel, particularly if you haven't seen the original leaked clips.
Here's the blurb for Kick-Ass from TrailerAddict:
Kick-Ass tells the story of average teenager Dave Lizewski (Johnson), a comic-book fanboy who decides to take his obsession as inspiration to become a real-life superhero. As any good superhero would, he chooses a new name -- Kick-Ass -- assembles a suit and mask to wear, and gets to work fighting crime. There's only one problem standing in his way: Kick-Ass has absolutely no superpowers. His life is forever changed as he inspires a subculture of copy cats, is hunted by assorted violent and unpleasant characters, and meets up with a pair of crazed vigilantes, including an 11-year-old sword-wielding dynamo, Hit Girl (Moretz) and her father, Big Daddy (Cage).
The film stars Aaron Johnson as Kick-Ass, Chloe Moretz as Hit Girl, Nicolas Cage as Big Daddy, Christopher Mintz-Plasse as Red Mist, the superb Mark Strong, and Xander Berkeley and Tamer Hassan. The big draw though is that it's a Mark Millar comic, adapted by Jane Goldman and directed by Matthew Vaughn who has so far not disappointed in his films, and this looks like it's set to continue that streak and increase it.
