There's a fair cast growing for Zack Snyder's Guardians of Ga'hoole, The Hollywood Reporter says that Sam Neill, Geoffrey Rush, Hugo Weaving and David Wenham have joined the cast of Snyder's 3D animated film. Already signed up are Emily Barclay, Abbie Cornish, Emilie de Ravin, Ryan Kwanten and Jay Laga'aia, as well as English actors Miriam Margolyes, Helen Mirren and Jim Sturgess. Now that's a stonking cast for the film.

Kevin McKidd for Call of Duty film...
It was back in May that we first heard about a Call of Duty film, and now Kevin McKidd is pitching himself for taking up a role in the film, a role that he already has in the video game. According to the New York Post through Latino Review, he's been joking about who could take the role of Captain "Soap" MacTavish in a film version.

”They were looking for a rough, Scottish actor in Hollywood they probably couldn't get Gerard Butler, so they got the No. 2 Gerard Butler, me. I had no idea it would be so huge, and now there are talks of a feature film...if the script is good, and Gerard isn't available [laughs], then absolutely.”

That last part was in response to being asked if he would do the film. Well of course he would say yes, anyone would be mad to ignore the option.

Sean Connery returns to voice animated character...
Sascha and Tessa Hartmann have been working on the film Sir Billi for some five years now and it's about to get through post production, finally, and then we'll get to hear the last role of Sean Connery in film, and just hear for it's an animated film. Other actors involved in the flim are Alan Cumming, Miriam Margolyes, Ruby Wax, Alex Norton, Ford Kiernan, Greg Hempill, Barbara Rafferty, John Amabile, Larry Sullivan and newcomer Chris Jai Alex.

The Hollywood Reporter also tells us that Shirley Bassey sings the theme song for the film about a retired skateboarding veterinarian who lives in a remote Scottish village and leads the rescue of an illegal fugitive who is actually a beaver. What?! Connery slags off The League of Extraordinary Gentleman and he's doing a story that carries a blurb like that?

Mel Gibson has talked about the new Mad Max role...
Mel Gibson has been talking about the new Mad Max film and the possibility of starring in the leading role. First up he's revealed what he thinks about the whole thing.

”'I was just talking with George (Miller, Mad Max director) the other day, he dropped me a line...I figure if it's great, you'll end up seeing it, you know.”

Not really a flying endorsement. Then, when the Australian Herald Sun through JoBlo talked to him about the chance of starring, he said:

”Not with me, I don't think, man, I'm a bit old and long in the tooth for that number....You need somebody who can get around a bit quicker.”

Well we've seen older, but at the sane time I'm glad he's taking this view. Mad Max has to restart if it has to come to the big screen.

Brittany Murphy is joining Stephen Moyer in The Caller
Brittany Murphy is joining Stephen Moyer and Luis Guzman to star in Mathew Parkhill's film The Caller according to The Hollywood Reporter through JoBlo. The film tells the story of a woman who receives phone calls from an unknown person, some investigation shows that the person is actually in the past, and it turns out that it's a warning. If she doesn't kill this person then she will die, but how do you kill someone from the past?
