Stiller's Greenberg trailer online
Ben Stiller, Rhys Ifans and Jennifer Jason Leigh sound like names that should have me excited to watch, well the latter two do anyway, but the trailer for Greenberg leaves me wondering where is the story that I would want to watch? Where are the characters that have me drawn in? There doesn't seem to be anything that pulls me towards the film.
Basically, it seems to come down the fact that Stiller is doing something quite different, moving away from the standard comedy and trying to deliver something a little more real, a little more human, and in the trailer at least he looks like he might be pulling it off.
The film sees a man move from New York to Los Angeles to look after his brother's house while he's away, and also to take the time to try and figure out his own life. While he's there he connects with his brother's assistant and, well, events move on from there.
Although there are some interesting names in the cast, the story comes from Jennifer Jason Leigh herself and is written and directed by Noah Baumbach who is known for The Squid and the Whale, I'm not sure there's really enough here to interest me other than seeing Ben Stiller play it straight...well, straight-er.
I don't think I can feel anything for the film, there's nothing in this trailer that captures me and hooks me to go and see the film. Is there something that works for you?
You can see the trailer below in Flash format, or you can head to Apple trailers and see it in high definition.
