The Killer Inside Me promotional trailer online
A promotional trailer has arrived for The Killer Inside Me, the adaptation of the Jim Thompson novel which sees a small town sheriff who slowly allows the psychopathic killer inside him, a part he's been hiding for a very long time, out, and watches his life fall apart around him.
Directed by Michael Winterbottom and starring Casey Affleck, Kate Hudson, Jessica Alba, Ned Beatty, Bill Pullman, Simon Baker, and Elias Koteas the cast list is really strong, and if you've read the book you'll already be thinking it's a great story to bring to life.
Casey Affleck plays the Sheriff, Kate Hudson his girlfriend, and Jessica Alba the a prostitute who enters his life and helps push him on his downward spiral.
The footage is interesting, and it's not one of these that is just cobbled together, this is carefully edited and looks slick. However the mumbling from Affleck doesn't give me the feel of the sheriff from the novel because already he's seeming like his creepy, cowardly character that we've seen already in The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford. Is the character going to have the strength to carry the film forward and make us believe that he's hidden this evil for so long?
You can see the trailer below through The Playlist, and be warned, there are a couple of violent moments, and it does set up quite a bit of the story.
It has me intrigued though, considering the amount it shows, it's raced through the book in just this six minute piece and looks like it's near the end already. For those of you who have already read it, see what you think.
