Closing Credits: Brittany Murphy
I've just read the surprising news that Brittany Murphy, the actress most known for her roles in Sin City, 8 Mile and Clueless, died today aged just 32.
She had appeared in quite a number of films, and there are five currently in post production that she starred in too, including The Expendables.
Brittany Murphy was also well known for her voicing of the character Luanne Platter in the King of the Hill television series and Gloria the penguin in Happy Feet. She also features on a track I really enjoy, Faster Kill Pussycat with Paul Oakenfold, a cracking song.
She first appeared in television series when she was fourteen, but her first film appearance was Family Prayers in 1993 when she was just sixteen, however it was Clueless that got her noticed two years later, and with more television appearances filling the gaps, she continued to work in film.
A role in Girl, Interrupted followed four years later, a strong role in Don't Say a Word opposite Michael Douglas, Riding in Cars with Boys, and then a leading role in 8 Mile alongside Eminem.
It's probably fair to say that her most widely known role was in Sin City, although Happy Feet brought her as much recognition for her voice acting.
It's unclear how far ahead her films in production are, but she'll certainly be seen in Sylvester Stallone's The Expendables.
I'm sure I speak for us all when I say that our thoughts are with her husband and family at this time.
