Cruise & Cameron in Knight & Day trailer

TomCruise.jpgAdding to the heap of trailers that are being revealed just now, the next up is the one for Knight & Day starring Tom Cruise, Cameron Diaz, Maggie Grace and Peter Sarsgaard. The film is directed by James Mangold who previously directed Cop Land, Girl, Interrupted, Identity, Walk the Line (Filmstalker review) and 3:10 to Yuma, so there's a lot of positive work there to suggest this film is going to be a bit of a corker.

Surprisingly though Knight & Day is billed as a comedy by the studio, or rather an action comedy, and from the above list you might have been thinking thriller, but no, this could be more in the vein of Mr & Mrs Smith.

The plot for Knight & Day was initially described as the following:

Cruise plays a man of mystery who links up with Diaz. They become fugitives, there are betrayals and shifting alliances all around them, and they must figure out whether to be guided by truth or trust.

Combine that with the studio written blurb and we get a better picture for the film:

An action-comedy centered on a fugitive couple (Cruise and Diaz) on a glamorous and sometimes deadly adventure where nothing and no one - even themselves - are what they seem. Amid shifting alliances and unexpected betrayals, they race across the globe, with their survival ultimately hinging on the battle of truth vs. trust.

Starring Tom Cruise, Cameron Diaz, Maggie Grace, and Peter Sarsgaard and with James Mangold directing I think we could be looking at a strong film, and seeing Cruise in a comedy-action role could be a good thing.

Here's the trailer, tell me what you think as I haven't been able to watch it as yet.

I just watched that for the first time, it looks hilarious. Love it.
