New Nine trailer gives story first, music second
Not only does it feature the story in this trailer and the music as a second, but the song is sung by a singer too. Okay, cheap jibe aside, this trailer does have more on the performances and the story inside the musical, including some of Daniel Day Lewis and the leading ladies themselves.
I think this is a welcome trailer for the film, for so far we've seen the big stage performances and a star who we don't normaly see sing, sing. Now we actually get to see some of the film, and it looks like it has a warm and jocular feel to it, I wonder if this runs into the film itself.
There's plenty of Daniel Day Lewis to be had as well as the other actresses looking incredibly sultry, well, most of them anyway.
See what you think of the trailer for Nine below, but it's definitely one that has raised my interest even more in the film.
The film is based on the award winning Broadway musical and the semi-autobiographical story of Federico Fellini's 8 and a half that centres on film director Guido Contini as his life seems to reach a critical point, and it all seems to hang in the balance around the key women involved in his life.
Those nine women include his wife, played by Marion Cotillard, his mistress, played by Penélope Cruz, his film star muse, played by Nicole Kidman, his confidant and costume designer, played by Judi Dench, an American fashion journalist, played by Kate Hudson, the whore from his youth, played by Stacy "Fergie" Ferguson, and his mother, played by Sophia Loren.
What a cast, and what a great looking film.
