Pride and Prejudice and Zombies gains director

DavidORussell.jpgA director has been found for the very odd idea of Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, the film that is being produced and led by Natalie Portman, and the choice is rather a surprising one.

If I said to you the director of this film would be the person who directed Three Kings and I Heart Huckabees, what would you be thinking? More to the point how could you imagine the film turning out?

Well David O. Russell is the man who is being rumoured to have taken over the spot of director for the film, and it's a rumour that I find hard to take, but then the idea of Natalie Portman leading is a tough one too, and that's true.

Pajiba have the rumour from one of their sources, and not much more, but they do point out his troubled past and present with actors and productions, he doesn't make things easy. I wonder what sort of a film Portman is in for, never mind us.

However thinking of that, I can't reconcile the ideas of his previous films with this script. What way is it going to go? Is it going to end up being an off the wall comedy or something more serious? Will it err on the Austen side or the zombie side?

Who knows. Russell is also set to write the screenplay, so he's the one in charge now. Of course they could always just take his script and move on.
