Diary of a Wimpy Kid trailer

DiaryofaWimpyKid.jpgI've no idea about the Jeff Kinney illustrated novel that has inspired this film Diary of a Wimpy Kid. I do like the way that they've integrated the cartoon drawings of the characters and morphed them into their real life film version.

I'd be interested to hear what people who have read the novel feel about the film, and if it has stayed true, or at least close, to Jeff Kinney's original story.

Diary of a Wimpy Kid is the story of a junior high school student who is keeping a diary (okay a journal!) of his and his friends experiences. Thor Freudenthal is the director, he also directed Hotel for Dogs. Watching the trailer it reminds me a little of The Wonder Years but with a little more silliness.

Have a look at the trailer, which you can also see at Yahoo Trailers in high definition, see what you think of it, does it give the same feel as the original story (Amazon.co.uk / Amazon.com)?
