The Company Men trailer online
There's a trailer online for the highly cast Company Men from writer/director John Wells who has a lot of television writing behind him, particularly The Third Watch, ahead he has a number of interesting films, but it's The Company Men that people are interested in for the moment.
No wonder, it carries a cast headling Ben Affleck, Kevin Costner, Maria Bello, Tommy Lee Jones, Chris Cooper and Craig T. Nelson, all of whom can be seen in the first trailer that's arrived online.
In my eyes the trailer does nothing for the film though. It seems to have some Middle Eastern type music playing through it and a series of images taken from the film which really don't give us any story, just a feeling for the overall setting of the film and some of the characters.
Actually what the trailer for The Company Men really does is show us the big stars that are in it.
The blurb tells us that it's another film looking at something that's affecting many of us, something that hit a lot of my friends quite hard just yesterday, downsizing and redundancy. Now that has caught my eye.
Looking at the cast, the tone of the trailer, and then the blurb below, and I think we might have a very intimate and powerful look at what effect losing your job can have on a person, their family, and how the loss of any jobs can affect a community.
The story centers on a year in the life of three men trying to survive a round of corporate downsizing at a major company - and how that affects them, their families, and their communities.
