The Ghost Writer German trailer

TheGhostWriter.jpgI'm eagerly awaiting a longer, more involved trailer for The Ghost Writer, the upcoming Roman Polanski film, and with news that the film is to be released in America on February the 19th, I'm even more eager, that's not that far away.

The film stars Ewan McGregor as a ghost writer, set to write the memoirs of the ex-British Prime Minister played by Pierce Brosnan, however while investigating his life he uncovers something rather unsavoury, something he shouldn't, and before long the two are locking horns and his life is in danger. Kim Cattrall, Olivia Williams, Eli Wallach, Timothy Hutton, Tom Wilkinson and James Belushi also star.

It sounds like a superb thriller, and I do tend to enjoy Roman Polanski's directorial style, especially when he's on a thriller like this. To add to that, Robert Harris adapted his own novel for the screenplay, so this could turn out to be a really strong thriller, and the new trailer suggests that.

I've just had a look and The Ghost Writer also looks set for Germany, Switzerland (German speaking) and Italy around that time with France, Switzerland (French speaking), Czech Republic, Argentina and Slovakia, but no word on the UK as yet.

Here's the German trailer for the film, and even if you can't speak German you can see the relationship between the two building into something darker and the elements of a conspiracy thriller that are all there. I'm in, controversy aside.
