Kick-Ass International trailer
I forgot to write about this last night, the International trailer for Kick-Ass, the Matthew Vaughn film which he and Jane Goldman adapted from the Mark Millar comic. Yeah, we all know about it by now, and if you don't then this trailer will do it for you.
Really, I wonder if Vaughn has indeed sold his soul to make awesome films, because he's getting better and better and right now I'd just pay to see one of his films whatever it was. However in this case Kick-Ass happens to look just as awesome as his reputation is becoming, better even.
There is a little bit of fear starting to creep in that maybe the film isn't going to be able to live up to this amazing hype, but I'm trying not to listen to that because every time I see something from it, I'm back in that awesome mode.
Here's a write-up for the film before we hit the Kick-Ass trailer, not that you should need it:
Kick-Ass tells the story of average teenager Dave Lizewski (Aaron Johnson), a comic-book fanboy who decides to take his obsession as inspiration to become a real-life superhero. As any good superhero would, he chooses a new name — Kick-Ass — assembles a suit and mask to wear, and gets to work fighting crime. There’s only one problem standing in his way: Kick-Ass has absolutely no superpowers whatsoever.
His life is forever changed as he inspires a subculture of copy cats, meets up with a pair of crazed vigilantes – including an 11-year-old sword-wielding dynamo, Hit Girl (Chloë Moretz) and her father, Big Daddy (Nicolas Cage) – and forges a friendship with another fledgling crimefighter, Red Mist (Christopher Mintz-Plasse). But thanks to the scheming of a local mob boss Frank D’Amico (Mark Strong), that new alliance will be put to the test.
This trailer gives us some more of the excellent Mark Strong, and a few more well edited pieces of footage. Oh yes, top of my list to see.
