The Last Airbender Super Bowl teaser

TheLastAirbender.jpgThere's a Super Bowl teaser online for The Last Airbender from M. Night Shyamalan, and having just watched it I have to say I'm hooked, although there's no real story conveyed in the clips, what we do get are some amazing effects shots.

The Last Airbender is looking superb, I wonder if this is going to turn out to be a bit of a powerhouse for Shyamalan?

The television series has prompted M. Night Shyamalan to write and direct the film version of The Last Airbender, here's the blurb:

Water. Earth. Fire. Air. In the old days, there was peace between the four nations of the world. The Avatar -- Master of all four elements -- kept peace between the the Water Tribes, the Earth Kingdom, the Fire Nation, and the Air Nomads. Only the Avatar has the ability to Bend (manipulate) all four elements, but one day, he Vanished. Then the Fire Nation attacked, forcing a war on the other three nations for one hundred years. Now, for the good of the world, it's up to 12-year-old Aang (Noah Ringer), the new Avatar, to return peace and balance by putting an end to the war and mastering all four elements. Aang must accept his destiny by stopping the Fire Nation's war and defeating the Fire Lord for good.

Now just remember, before you watch the film remember that there's probably not going to be an insane twist to it, that way you most likely won't come out cursing Shyamalan. Mind you, judging from this teaser, I don't think there'd be any reason to.

Looking good isn't it? The effects were a part of this I was concerned about, after all the character manipulating water, fire and air? That's going to be tough to do on screen. Not so it seems.
