The Last Airbender new trailer online
There's a new trailer online for The Last Airbender and it looks amazing. This one not only features some serious action and effects, but it also features more of Dev Patel, one of the bad guys in the film, and he's looking mean as.
One thing that people are picking up on is that the lead character hasn't been heard speaking in the trailers as yet, nothing major, but here he is. There's also a very good voiceover that really adds weight to the tale in the short space of time it's on. I'm liking it.
For those of you who haven't been following the film and know nothing about it, here's a quick run down of The Last Airbender:
Water. Earth. Fire. Air. In the old days, there was peace between the four nations of the world. The Avatar -- Master of all four elements -- kept peace between the the Water Tribes, the Earth Kingdom, the Fire Nation, and the Air Nomads. Only the Avatar has the ability to Bend (manipulate) all four elements, but one day, he Vanished. Then the Fire Nation attacked, forcing a war on the other three nations for one hundred years. Now, for the good of the world, it's up to 12-year-old Aang (Noah Ringer), the new Avatar, and the last of the Air Nomads (Airbenders), to return peace and balance by putting an end to the war and mastering all four elements. Aang must accept his destiny by stopping the Fire Nation's war and defeating the Fire Lord for good.
Dev Patel and Noah Ringer both look great, as do all the characters. There's a real weight and intensity to the trailer and I'm ever hopeful that this turns out to be a return to form for M. Night Shyamalan, aren't you?
