The Mechanic remake trailer online

JasonStatham.jpgThe original The Mechanic from 1972 is from Michael Winner and stars Charles Bronson and Jan-Michael Vincent in the story of an older hitman taking on a younger hitman to train him to be the best and allow him to retire, except for them betrayal is easier than trust.

The remake stars Jason Statham and Ben Foster in the above roles, as well as Donald Sutherland who makes an appearance. What's worth noting about this is that it's directed by Simon West.

Now Simon West, you'll remember, directed Con Air, The General's Daughter and Lara Croft: Tomb Raider, and now he's taking up another action film, and it could just be something interesting.

Have a look at the trailer for The Mechanic from Kinopisk and see.

Well? What do you think? It seems like your standard action film but with something a little extra, and that something is Ben Foster. Jason Statham provides the action hero quotient and Foster looks like he could bring a bit of a twist, but will West be able to capture his former glory? The trailer certainly suggests there's something to be had here.
