The Runaways actresses play Cherry Bomb

TheRunaways.jpgHere's a great way to advertise a film about a rock band, get the actresses to sing and play the songs in the film, and then release them online. That's what The Runaways have done with Cherry Bomb, and it's going down a storm.

I'll have to be convinced if Kristen Stewart and the rest of the cast are really playing the instruments, but chances are that they and Dakota Fanning are all singing, and damn good they are too.

I've heard from a few sources that they are playing and singing, and it would be superb if they had taken the time to actually go to that level of authenticity for the film, after all it is so easy to fake it on screen, but there's nothing like the actual passion of playing and singing in a live performance is there?

You can see the music video below, and with it plenty of footage from the film itself. Definitely worth watching, and I'm keen to get to see it myself. Not just to see the story of the first real all girl rock group, but also to see Kristen Stewart and Dakota Fanning in two very different roles than they are used to.

Enough, here's the video from The Runaways.

As a long time Runaways fan...color me impressed.

Tell me more Danny, how do you feel about the actresses portrayals - what you've seen so far - and what about that video and the sound of them? What did you think before you saw them but heard them cast?
