The Runaways trailer online

TheRunaways.jpgThe Runaways has a full trailer online, and it looks set to totally blow away the image of both Dakota Fanning and Kristen Stewart, although I imagine the Stewart fans are going to be running alongside her screaming just the same. Her character feels like more of a progression for the actress.

Dakota Fanning on the other hand is going to be a big surprise for audiences. You can see the trailer right here and see what I mean.

The film tells the story of the first hugely successful all-girl rock band and carried names such as Joan Jett, Lita Ford, Sandy West, Cherie Currie and Jackie Fox, and if you don't know the band or the history then you'll know two of those names, or at least you should do.

The film focuses on the relationship between Joan Jett and Cherie Currie, although I hope there's plenty of Lita Ford in there because she had a strong influence on my growing up.

Kristen Stewart and Dakota Fanning take the leads, with Michael Shannon playing a major role as the manager of the band.

The trailer for The Runaways looks great, but it's really concentrating on the actresses and what they're becoming, although that's maybe a by product that can't be helped by watching them in this film. I'd like it to go into more about what the core of the film is about, right now it's not quite doing that. See what you think.

The trailer is over at Yahoo Movies through Latino Review in high definition, and right here.
