The full length trailer for the Sorcerer's Apprentice has arrived online, and the most surprising thing about it is that Nicolas Cage looks good, perhaps his career is turning around? The film looks like a lot of action, adventure and fun, as well as some pretty amazing effects. Watch the old car turn into the Mercedes and fly in and out of the mirror, now that's pretty top notch.

The set-ups look cool, and above all the evil character of the piece, Alfred Molina, looks absolutely superb.

What I really like about the effects in the Sorcerer's Apprentice trailer is how seamlessly they merge with the real people and environments. For me it's when effects don't do this that they fall over and we don't end up believing them, here though it ends up looking truly magical.

In this world of films pushing reality and CG to the limits I do think it's a huge task to get the audience to believe in the "magic" in a film, but in this trailer they've done it, and I love it for that.

The story is pretty simple, a master sorcerer takes on an apprentice who is destined to become one of the most powerful sorcerers in the universe, problem is he doesn't realise it himself just yet. The bad guys do though and they're out to get him before he becomes powerful enough to fight back.
