Heartless new trailer online
I have yet to complete my review of Heartless, something I need to do this weekend, for it's a pretty good film that does have some flaws, but also has style and something different to offer. Heartless has some imaginative film-making, in a time when Hollywood is piling out drivel, this is streets ahead of a lot of the multiplex films on offer.
The film basically follows a man who has a terrible birthmark and he makes a deal with some kind of demon, perhaps the devil himself, to become handsome and live a new life. However he has to pay a price, and that means he has to kill someone in return.
The trailer does give a slightly different feel for the film than when you actually watch it, but it's a very good trailer that has you getting involved with the story and feeling some of the scares and intensity straight up. I have to tell you though, it doesn't have some of the humour in the film, which is great in itself.
Here's the trailer for Heartless starring Jim Sturgess, Eddie Marsan, Timothy Spall, Noel Clarke, Joseph Mawle and Clémence Poésy. Oh and did I mention that it's written and directed by Philip Ridley, the man who wrote The Krays?
