Rachel Weisz as Jackie Kennedy?
There's a speculative script on the go for Jackie, a story about Jackie Kennedy in the four days following the assassination of her husband, John F. Kennedy, the President at the time, to the day of his funeral.
More than that the person who is associated with playing the role of Jackie Kennedy is Pacehl Weisz and, yes there's more, her husband Darren Aronofsky may well be directing.
The script was set to be an HBO television series produced by Steven Spielberg, but according to Entertainment Weekly through The Playlist, that's exactly what's happening, even though the relevant people have yet to confirm.
Noah Oppenheim wrote the script in what is being claimed as a couple of nights, but then if it is a speculative script then it may not be the entire story. However it is being viewed as a very exciting and sought after script.
The article points out that Weisz is British born and that it'll be “interesting” to see how she plays the role. For me it'll be probably as well as she's played all the American and non-British roles she's played, very.
It's interesting that if it was an American actress playing an iconic British role there wouldn't be much said about it. Anyway, not really the point here.
The point is that Rachel Weisz is a superb actress and has the look to carry off the role as well as the emotional depth and believability. Then there's the fact that Darren Aronofsky is directing, and that could mean something special from Jackie.
What I'm hoping for is something powerful and emotionally strong that drives us to look at the events that are so well known and viewed, but from an angle that's hardly been looked at, that of his wife.
