The Kids Are All Right trailer online
I know what you're going to say, the film sounds like one of those standard ones, but watch the trailer and you'll find there's quite a bit more to it than that. The Kids Are All Right is the story of a family comprising of two mothers and their two teenage children, one boy and one girl, who decide to find their biological father.
You see the mothers took a sperm donation when they were younger in order to have children, and the deal was that they would have nothing to do with him after that, something he seemed fine with too. Until the kids grew up and wanted to find him that is.
When they do find him the family gets a little turned upside down, and everything they thought was nice and safe soon gets turned upside down.
Of course there are a few cliché moments in here, and you can spot some of those Hollywood scenes, but the difference here is that we're looking at Annette Bening, the alluring Julianne Moore and Mark Ruffalo as the three parents, and that just sets the film up a level or two for me. I would go to see a film for these actors alone, so to find out that they've accepted something like this must mean that there's more to it than you might first think, and that's something that the trailer plays out too.
The kids are played by Mia Wasikowska and Josh Hutcherson, and the trailer seems to suggest some honest and rather genuinely funny moments, as well as perhaps a rather more realistic attitude to these films than you'd usually see.
