Seyfried reveals Red Riding Hood's wolf?

AmandaSeyfried.jpgAmanda Seyfried has been talking about the film she's starring in for Catherine Hardwicke, Red Riding Hood and revealed a lot more about the plot and some of the co-stars, except for one.

She tried to keep quiet about who would be playing the character of the big bad wolf, yet she couldn't resist a little hint about who she wanted to play the character.

Catherine Hardwicke's latest film is set to retell the story of The Girl with the Red Riding Hood, or rather tell it properly and rather darkly too. The blurb for the film reads:

Set in a medieval village that is haunted by a werewolf, a young girl falls for an orphaned woodcutter, much to her family's displeasure.

There's not much more to go on other than the directors who we've seen direct Thirteen and Twilight is bringing the story from the writer David Johnson who previously delivered Orphan. Now thinking of those films and the talents who brought them tied together, it sounds like it'll be dark, scary, and intense. Or so I hope.

Cast wise we know that Amanda Seyfried is set to play Red Riding Hood. Seyfried confirmed that Gary Oldman will play Father Soloman, and Julie Christie the grandmother.

Speaking to MTV she said:

"The wolf is the enemy and it's a very, very dangerous enemy and nobody knows who the wolf is. So it's a hunt and it's really cool."

She goes on to say that she has someone in mind for the role of the wolf, now do remember that this is Seyfried's choice, not necessarily the director and the producers. For her choice she says:

"I'm not going to say [who it is] because I don't want to jinx it. But he happens to be a really great actor. There's so many great actors. I have no idea...I actually haven't talked to Catherine Hardwicke, the director, in a couple weeks, so I gotta get back that."

Okay, so you're getting the picture, this could be little more than a wild goose chase, but then Seyfried says:

"[Catherine] knows [who I want for the wolf]… she knows. [I don't want to say] 'cause what if it isn't and then the person that does play the wolf is like, 'Oh you wanted him.' [His initials are] VC. You're not gonna figure it out."

Vincent Cassel? Damn, would he make a good wolf, I wonder if Catherine Hardwicke will listen to Seyfried's choice? I would if she popped those initials up to me and told me it was that name.
