Universal Soldier IV 3D gains Damme and Lundgren

VanDamme.jpgThe production company Foresight Unlimited has just announced that Universal Soldier IV is happening, after Universal Soldier: Regeneration presumably did so well. More than that it also reveals that both Dolph Lundgren and Jean-Claude Van Damme are going to be leading the film and fighting head to head once again.

They both appeared in the previous Universal Soldier: Regeneration, which was a surprise in itself, and it's even more that they are both returning for another. For me I think there's even more of a surprise of seeing Lundgren back again when he's just about to appear in Sylvester Stallone's The Expendables.

You would think that sort of exposure would lift him up from the straight to DVD kind of film such as Universal Soldier, especially when it's the fourth one. I would have thought he would have found a way to go on to bigger and better things after The Expendables.

However Dolph Lundgren is returning to Universal Soldier, along with Jean-Claude Van Damme, and what's more the two stars will be in 3D, yes the film will be in 3D.

Hang on a minute though, as Quiet Earth point out, who have the /Film story, this means that they'll be releasing the 3D film not to the cinema, but the home market. Will the saturation of 3D televisions in the home be enough to guarantee the audience? I don't think it will. Perhaps it's just a marketing ploy for now?

John Hyams, who successfully directed Universal Soldier: Regeneration will be returning for this film. Oh why couldn't they all move onto something new and something better?
