Frears' Tamara Drewe trailer online
A trailer has appeared for Tamara Drewe, Stephen Frears adaptation of the Posy Simmonds comic character that's no superhero, it's the story of a woman returning to her small, home town and causing an uproar after she's grown up and found fame and herself.
It stars Gemma Arterton, Roger Allam, Dominic Cooper, Luke Evans and quite a few recognisable faces, but it's Arterton's performance that looks the best, particularly in this trailer.
I really had hoped that Stephen Frears' Tamara Drewe was going to appear at the Edinburgh International Film Festival, but it isn't unfortunately, so we have to do with the reviews from Cannes, which were very positive and if the trailer is anything to go by then the film is going to turn out to be a bit of a corker.
It looks plenty of fun, and there's a few story surprises in there, especially with the character of Drewe making so many bad decisions. Gemma Arterton looks sweet as anything and she looks like she's playing the role with ease.
