Sir Billi trailer online

SeanConnery.jpgSir Billi is the last outing for Sean Connery as an actor, we're led to believe anyway, and features him providing the voice of a retired veterinarian living in a remove Scottish village who pulls together an unlikely band of helpers to try and rescue some beavers who are in deadly danger.

There's more to it than that, but that's the opening idea, the rest is alongside the trailer below. What is more important is the supporting cast with Alan Cumming, Miriam Margolyes, Alex Norton and Miriam Margolyes.

The trailer though, is nigh on painful to watch. The bonus is that it is the promotional trailer, presumably to sell the film in America, but with that dreadful American voice-over that explains just about everything you would need to know about the film and more.

It's just the way it's done, I can't believe that they didn't even consider having a Scottish voice-over, considering it's a Scottish film, but then it probably is selling itself to the U.S.

Now you've seen that, here's the blurb for Sir Billi from the production company:

An aging, skateboarding veterinarian Sir Billi goes above and beyond the call of duty fighting villainous policemen and powerful lairds in a battle to save an illegal fugitive - Bessie Boo the beaver! An heart warming and action packed family movie where thrilling car chases, heroic skydiving and daring stunts from this octogenarian, fueled with encounters with a hostile submarine, will keep you at the edge of your seat! Everyone wants a grandpa like Sir Billi, the Guardian of the Highlands!

I don't know though, what with the voice-over and the style of the animation, I'm not sure that this is going to live up to other animated films this year.

Looks rubbish but I see Connery gets to drive an Aston Martin DB5 again.

It does look like something designed and written by a special needs class.
Poor Sir Sean: a legend reduced to working with bell ends.
