The Disappearance of Alice Creed first five minutes online
There's something very clever about the presentation of the opening five minutes of The Disappearance of Alice Creed. The picture has been presented full frame and allowed for titles at the top and slowly rotating quotes at the bottom, plenty of time to see if it's a critic you trust that's saying something about the film.
There's a lot of names, there's a lot of positivity, and the opening five minutes are without words, just a mood setting music track. It's a great opening that really does feel like a strong thriller, but then everything we've seen and heard about this film from the first glimpse has felt like that.
I'm really keen for this film, and I think The Disappearance of Alice Creed, along with Tamara Drewe, are going to mark a big career change moment for Gemma Arterton who appears to be working her career very well. It's certainly a long way from a Bond girl and the awful St Trinian's.
