The Girl Who Played With Fire trailer online

TheGirlWhoPlayedWithFire.jpgFollowing on fro the successful The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo comes The Girl Who Played With Fire, and I wonder if this will prime itself for a remake too?

Noomi Rapace and Michael Nyqvist return to play their roles in a sequel, this time directed by Daniel Alfredson and adapted by Jonas Frykberg from the Stieg Larsson novel, a team who are also set to release The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet's Nest this year, and the trailer is once again looking strong.

The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo (Män som hatar kvinnor) was a very successful novel and the film followed suit, and so The Girl Who Played With Fire (Flickan som lekte med elden) looks set to sequel that film well, without having to wait the usual lengthy period that Hollywood sequels do.

Interestingly the third in the series, The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet's Nest (Luftslottet som sprängdes) is set to be released in 2009 and both the second and third film are to have a different scriptwriter and director.

This second film looks strong though, with a powerful trailer that also comes with a strong blurb. For those of you who haven't read the novel here's the catch-up, and for those of you who have, see if there's any hint of a difference.

Oh, and before you read it, do be warned. If you haven't seen the first film then this might contain a small spoiler. I haven't, and I think I might have ruined it a little by reading it. That said, the trailer won't spoil anything.

"The new film sees Lisbeth Salander (Noomi Rapace) and crusading journalist Mikael Blomkvist (Michael Nyqvist) once again caught up in a brutal murder investigation. Having served his prison sentence, Blomkvist returns to Millennium intent on exposing a billion dollar sex trafficking ring. When two of his researchers are murdered, Salander is framed for the murders and emerges as the police's chief suspect.

Unconvinced, Blomkvist attempts to track her down and find out the truth. But secretive hacker Salander goes on the run and soon stumbles upon secrets of her own past."
