This Man aka The Man From Nowhere trailer carries exciting blurb

There's a short trailer for This Man, a Korean film that when I read the blurb about the main character had me thinking of a Clint Eastwood western from the blurb, like Pale Rider of High Plains Drifter where the character appears from nowhere and helps fight off the bad guys, but the blurb of the film offers something altogether more modern than a western.

The blurb reads really well, and combined with this short teaser trailer had me rather interested. It might just do the same for you, if you give it a little chance.

The teaser is in Korean, and on it's own doesn't really capture the imagination, but read the blurb first and you might well be hooked in.

Here's the write up for The Man From Nowhere aka This Man straight away:

”So-mi’s mother, Hyo-jeong smuggles drugs from a drug trafficking organization and entrusts Tae-sik with the product, without letting him know. When the traffickers find out they kidnap both Hyo-jeong and So-mi. Mistaking Tae-sik for another mule, the brothers that lead the gang promise to release Hyo-jeong and So-mi if Tae-sik makes a delivery for them. After much consideration, Tae-sik makes the decision to face the outside world in order to rescue So-mi.

At the same time, Hyo-jeong’s disembowelled body is discovered, and Tae-sik realizes that So-mi’s life may also be in danger. In the process, he discovers that their drug ring operates around kidnapped children.

Stumbling upon a factory where the brothers have children’s organs removed to accommodate the drugs, Tae-sik rescues one child just before surgery and becomes enraged at the prospect So-mi may already be dead.

Tae-sik prepares for a battle with Man-sik and Jong-sik, putting his own life at risk.”

Sounds interesting, and it was that idea that the lead character doesn't have any connection with the outside world that made me think of the Eastwood character, or maybe I should also be thinking of OldBoy (Filmstalker review) at the same time, or maybe any of the many films that have carried that idea? Well they are connections that are at the base level of the film, for the rest of the blurb sounds pretty tough going and at the same time fascinating.

There's really not much to go on, The Man From Nowhere is in development, this is an early teaser, but it's looking good.
