Biutiful trailer online starring Bardem

JavierBardem.jpgThere may be some nice images and music in the trailer for Biutiful, but the voice-over really seems at odds with what we're seeing and for me doesn't work at all.

The film is the story of Uxbal, a man who is facing death and is trying to survive in a tough neighbourhood long enough to ensure the safety and the future of his children and also find forgiveness and love in his own life.

Interesting images, particularly the people on the roof behind Javier Bardem's head at about one minute forty seconds into the trailer.

It's also an interesting enough blurb for Biutiful, but the trailer doesn't do anything for me apart from the odd shot. What should excite you is the fact that Javier Bardem leads and Alejandro González Iñárritu co-wrote the screenplay and directed the film, you should know his name from Amores Perros, 21 Grams and Babel. Now that has my notice.

It's interesting that the trailer didn't really come together better than it did considering the director, but then often the trailer isn't in the hands of the director, and we do see some not quite complete trailers released on the internet before the finalised version is. Perhaps this is one of those cases?

Have a look and see what you think.
